A recent review of homes for sale in Pensacola Beach and Gulf Breeze shows me that Green and Energy Efficient features of homes are not being correctly marketed to potential buyers. When they are highlighted, I've found alot of Greenwashing going on. Greenwashing is a term that generally means "deceptive green marketing". It comes in many forms, but one of the worst is claiming green features that don't exist. An example is a home that is marketed as an "Energy Star Home" when in fact it just has one energy star appliance and no other energy saving features.
Without getting into issues of misrepresentation, you sure don't want your home marketed to include value added features that it does not contain. On the other side, we want to make sure that we do highlight all Green or unique features that do in fact add value to your property and makes it more attractive to your buyer pool.
