Pensacola: Quaint and Historical

Pensacola is a medium-sized city on the gulf coast of Florida. Its beginnings date back to 1559 making it the first European inhabited settlement in the United States.

Below are some facts about this traditional southern city:

Walkable downtown business and entertainment district with abundant historical architecture.  Many excellent restaurants, bars, galleries, music venues, and shops as well as:

  • Baseball Stadium
  • Amphitheater
  • Public parks
  • Mixed-use development

A water-based community reflected in its resident’s attitudes. In addition to the Gulf of Mexico, there are several inland bodies of water where residents live full time, which include:

  • Santa Rosa Sound
  • Pensacola Bay
  • Escambia Bay
  • East Bay

These inland bodies of water provide all kinds of recreational opportunities to both full-time residents and visitors alike including:

  • Boating
  • Fishing
  • Skiing
  • Sailing
  • Wakeboarding
  • Paddle boarding

Pensacola Beach

This is the main tourist area, but also where my office is located. It’s best described as:

  • Family-friendly residential community.
  • Resort community with the most beautiful white sand beaches in the world.
  • Small developed portion of the multi-state Gulf Islands National Seashore.

Pensacola Beach features:

  • Outstanding seafood restaurants.
  • All of the typical resort community amenities.
  • Several different styles of condos and single-family homes.
  • Homes and condos for vacation use, investment, or full-time residency.

Pensacola Beach is not as big and developed as many other Florida resorts, which makes our community appealing to the people who live and vacation here.

Gulf Breeze

Gulf Breeze is a small-bedroom community located on a peninsula between Pensacola and Pensacola Beach. It’s a very popular place to live with its central location:

  • 10 minutes to the beach
  • 10 minutes to downtown Pensacola

The school district in Santa Rosa County (Gulf Breeze) is exceptional and many families have chosen to live here for that reason.

For a small community, Gulf Breeze has a wide variety of quality housing choices from affordable interior-lot to luxury estate homes on the waterfront.

Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola

Also known as the “Cradle of Naval Aviation,” NAS Pensacola is home to:

  • The National Naval Aviation Museum
  • The Navy Blue Angels Demonstration Team

It is the primary training base for most aviators in the:

  • Navy
  • Marines
  • Coast Guard

However, most of the base is accessible to the public and is a major destination for both locals and visitors alike with its many historical points of interest and waterfront golf course.

Military families make up a large and respected part of the Pensacola community. Some of the personnel were born and raised in Pensacola, but many have passed through for training, then return and make the Pensacola area their permanent home.
